Are you CQC registered?
Yes, we are regulated by the care quality commission (CQC)
Can you provide medication after assessment if it is recommended?
Yes, we provide both assessment and treatment your clinician will discuss options with you before deciding whether medication is suitable.
Who is the ADHD service for?
Our private ADHD assessment and treatment service is for adults aged 18 and over. Appointments are available online across the UK and in person on the Isle of Wight.
How long does the ADHD assessment take?
The assessment typically lasts approximately 90 minutes. Your clinician will take the time to explore your current experiences, developmental history and how possible ADHD traits affect different areas of your life.
What does the assessment involve?
The assessment includes a detailed clinical discussion and the use of recognised diagnostic tools, including the DIVA-5. The clinician will consider your symptoms, history, day-to-day functioning and whether another condition may better explain some of your experiences.
Will I receive a diagnosis on the day?
The outcome of the assessment will normally be discussed with you during your appointment. If the clinician needs further information before reaching a conclusion, they will explain what is required and what will happen next.
Will I receive a written report?
Yes. You will receive a comprehensive written report explaining the assessment findings, diagnostic outcome and any recommendations for treatment or further support.
How long will it take to receive my report?
Reports are usually completed within two to four weeks following your assessment.
What happens if ADHD is not diagnosed?
The clinician will provide clear feedback and may discuss alternative explanations for your experiences. Where appropriate, they may also recommend other assessments, services or practical forms of support.
Do I need to complete all the forms before booking?
The registration pack must be completed and returned before an appointment can be booked. Additional questionnaires are recommended because they provide useful information for the assessment, but they are not mandatory.
Does someone else need to complete a supporting information form?
No. Information from someone who knows you well can be helpful, particularly when exploring childhood experiences, but the assessment can still proceed if this is not available.
Can I have an assessment if I do not have school reports?
Yes. School reports and other childhood records can be helpful but are not essential. Your clinician will explore your developmental history with you during the assessment.
Is Equilibrium Project part of the NHS?
No. Equilibrium Project is a private, CQC-registered independent healthcare provider. With your consent, we can share relevant reports and treatment information with your GP or another healthcare professional.
Will my GP accept a shared care agreement?
Shared care is entirely at the discretion of your GP and cannot be guaranteed. A request can usually be considered once medication titration has been completed and your treatment is stable. If your GP does not accept shared care, prescribing and reviews can continue privately.
Does receiving a diagnosis mean that I will be offered medication?
No. Medication is not automatically prescribed following a diagnosis. Your clinician will discuss the available options and consider your health, preferences and individual circumstances before deciding whether medication is suitable.
How much does ADHD medication cost?
Medication is not included in our appointment or prescription fees. The medication cost is paid directly to the dispensing pharmacy and may vary depending on the medication, dose and pharmacy used.
How many follow-up appointments will I need?
This varies according to your individual treatment plan. More frequent reviews are generally required during the initial medication titration period. Once treatment is stable, appointments are usually less frequent.
Will I need to provide blood pressure and pulse readings?
If you are considering or receiving ADHD medication, you will need to provide appropriate physical health information, including current blood pressure and pulse readings. Your clinician will explain the monitoring requirements.
Can I access support without medication?
Yes. Medication is not suitable or preferred by everyone. Your clinician can discuss practical strategies, lifestyle recommendations, coaching and other forms of support.
I already have an ADHD diagnosis. Can I transfer my care?
Potentially. You will normally need a transfer-of-care appointment so that the clinician can review your previous diagnostic report, medical information and current treatment. Acceptance for ongoing care will depend on the quality of the original assessment and clinical suitability.
Can I choose between online and in-person appointments?
Yes. Online appointments are available across the UK, and in-person appointments are available on the Isle of Wight. We will advise you if any part of your care needs to take place in person.
What if I change my mind after booking?
Please contact us as soon as possible. Any cancellation, rearrangement or refund will be handled in accordance with our current cancellation policy.
Is my information confidential?
Yes. Your information is handled in accordance with UK data protection law and our confidentiality policies. Information will only be shared with your consent unless there is a serious safety concern, safeguarding requirement or legal obligation.
